Why We Decided to Add Spices to Our Basket

For the first time in my life, I had to take a serious look at METS (Metabolic Syndrome) as a health concern. Having lived most of my life without visiting a doctor or undergoing diagnostic tests, this was new territory. I wasn’t pleased with what I saw, and so I began searching for real solutions.
Everyone agrees that lifestyle is the root of many health issues — but few truly understand what that means or how to fix it.
🍲 The Kitchen Connection

Like everyone else, I have a running kitchen — and I eat every day. While researching natural ways to support better health, I discovered how spices can play a major role in managing metabolic and inflammatory conditions. This made me reflect on our traditional use of spices in Indian cooking and healing.
Unfortunately, anyone following food industry news knows how many mainstream spice brands have made headlines — for all the wrong reasons. From artificial colors and flavor enhancers to chemical preservatives and adulteration, the list is long.
As a farmer and a wellness brand, I understand the pressures businesses face:
Long shelf life
Consistent color and aroma
Mass production needs
But these pressures often lead to compromises — especially in the form of synthetic dyes and additives, which can be harmful over time.
🌾 Why We Were Initially Reluctant
I had always decided not to venture into food products — mostly due to:
Low margins
Wastage concerns
Inventory management hassles
Though we grow some spices on our farms, we primarily use them to extract essential oils, which offer better returns and longer shelf life.
But as a part of farming collectives, I deeply understand the flaws in today’s farming systems. The most reliable and safest food today likely comes from mountain regions, where:
Chemical usage is minimal
There’s lower risk of heavy metals
Water and soil are relatively free of microplastics
While achieving 100% organic purity might be unrealistic, coming as close to it as possible is our commitment.

🌿 Our Approach to Spices
No artificial colors or fragrances
Small batches – a few kilos at a time
Slow, thoughtful production
Sourcing from trusted hill-based communities
We realized that if we could create something we would trust in our own kitchens, it deserved to be shared — even if only in small numbers.
Producing just for one kitchen is impractical, so we’ve decided to offer our spice range to a limited audience — just enough to support the costs of ethical, small-scale production.
It’s not just about selling spices. It’s about bringing together:
✅ Better agronomy
✅ Transparent production protocols
✅ Respect for tradition and health
